This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join the marketing team at Kew Gardens, one of Londons premier visitor attractions. Our aim is to unlock why plants matter – to share the importance of plants with our 1.5m visitors annually. The Marketing Executive will play a key role in delivering Kews marketing campaigns, communicating Kews diverse visitor programme to a wide range of audiences. You will be an expert when it comes to understanding our customers through in-depth market research and will tailor our marketing campaigns accordingly.
Under the guidance of the the Marketing Manager, you will implement the marketing campaigns that deliver a range of visitor income targets, from event tickets to admissions revenue targeting a broad range of audiences, such as local families or overseas tourists.
Tasks include managing the delivery of external communications, liaison and negotiation with external suppliers
– including creative and media planning and buying agencies – and overseeing the production of marketing materials, working with internal clients to ensure marketing campaigns deliver Kews aims and mission. In addition you will contribute to ticket sales income generation through the development of sales promotions and promotional partnerships. You will also help manage Kews ongoing market research programme, tracking visitor number performance and providing insight and analysis into what lies behind the performance. Managing on-site marketing infrastructure will also form part of your role, ensuring marketing opportunities are maximised. You will also act as a brand guardian, providing advice and support to internal departments on the design of internally produced materials.
Educated to degree level, with a proven background in a similar role, you will have an understanding how marketing communications work across print, advertising and digital. Experience in handling print production and liaising with printers and design agencies is necessary, and you will be financially confident, with an understanding of purchase order raising and budget control. A tactical problem-solver, with strong communication skills, you will be a team player who can manage conflicting priorities and work on your own initiative.
The salary will be £25,000 per annum.
